How far is the house from the centre of town?
The house is no more than six minutes walk from the town centre, 4 minutes from the Pelgrim Welcome centre, and 5 minutes from the Tourist Office....

Is there private parking?
There is no private parking as such, but the street is very quiet, effectively a cul de sac, and the parking is free and uncontrolled....

Do you accept dogs?
Yes provided they are quiet, and that the owner brings bedding for the dog....

We are currently working on a the final design for
our next year's programme of walking holidays in the area surrounding St Jean Pied de Port.
These will be based on a stay of six nights and give walks of varying
degress of difficulty in the foothills of the Pyrenées. One feature of
these holidays is that you will not require a car to take part in the
holidays.

The Basque name of the house, ‘Errecaldia,’ means ‘river view’, but unfortunately since it’s construction in 1673 events have overtaken names. The views from the terrace across the valley, the town of St Jean Pied de Port and to the Irouleguy vineyards on the hill of Arradoy are stunning, but the river itself is now obscured by various buildings.
